MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS

THOMPSON VACUUM-PRESSURE PUMPS

1.  Recommended operating speed R.P.M.800 to 900 (Do not exceed 900 R.P.M.).

2.  Check pump oil pressures and crankcase level during operation daily. If oil pressure

     drops below 20 p.s.i., check the following:

 

  1. Oil level.

  2. Oil viscosity and proper SAE weight.

  3. Oil contamination.

  4. OIL PUMP INTAKE SCREEN

  5. LOWER END - PISTON RINGS, BEARINGS, AND SEALS

  6. OIL PRESSURE GAUGE 0-80 PSI

 

Note: CHECK DIPSTICK INSTALLATION.  Fill pan to correct level.  Install dip stick and check full mark. To adjust dipstick height, trim tube assembly. Do not overfill.

3.  Change oil when contaminated, or as recommended, using the following procedure:

  1. Drain oil and contaminates from crankcase and 1129 separator silencer.

  2. Fill crankcase to within one (1) quart of capacity with diesel oil.

  3. RUN PUMP AT SLOW R.P.M. FOR THREE (3) MINUTES, POURING ONE (1) QUART OF DIESEL OIL THROUGH PUMP HEAD(S) BY REMOVING NON-RIGID COUPLING WITH FOUR-WAY VALVE IN THE VACUUM POSITION.

  4. DRAIN DIESEL OIL AND CONTAMINATES FROM CRANKCASE AND 1129 SEPARATOR SILENCER.

    NOTE: REPEAT PROCEDURE IF REQUIRED.

  5. REPLACE OIL FILTER, AND FILL PUMP WITH OIL AS RECOMMENDED. DO NOT OVERFILL.
